Open Water Clinics 2016

Duration of session: 4 hours.
Cost of one session: £75
(Including wetsuit hire and swim hat if required and swim smooth app with all skills and drills included.
The Session will consist of a small group of 4 – 8 People.
This course is designed to coach you through the skills needed to swim efficiently and effectively in the open water. Whether you are fairly new to the sport or a seasoned athlete looking to develop your race or event skills, this course will give you the opportunity to learn new skills, race wiser and become faster through the water.
The training session will always have low athlete to coach ratios, this enables the coaches to give you a high quality experience, whilst analysing your stroke, offering stroke development and correction.
The Course involves:
- Training preparation for events and races.
- Theory and OW adaption.
- Open water skills presentation – How to race well.
- Identifying the difference between Open Water and pool Swimming.
- Open Water Skills – Sighting, Drafting, turning around buoys and mass starts.
- How to adapt your swimming, in the Open Water.
- Open Water rules, safety and mental preparation.
- The coach will identify areas for individual progression.
- All courses are run in small groups to give individuals maximum input.
